World AIDS Day....December 1st

We always feel like we have to wait until a specific day in order to recognize whatever is being honored on that date. When it is Thanksgiving, we feel compelled to give thanks; when it is someone's birthday, we feel compelled to show them our appreciation. Now that today is World AIDS Day, we want to focus on the issues around the epidemic of HIV and AIDS....For only one day?

This is an issue that we should be focusing on everyday as it continues to plague the lives of many individuals, specifically people of African descent. The stats are alarming! According to (RED), "33 million people in the world have HIV, 22 million of those people live in Africa". So often we find ourselves saying, "what can we do about this situation? I am just one person!" It only takes one person to educate a community. It only takes one person to get tested and know their status. It only takes one person to not engage in sexual activity with their partner before having an intimate conversation about self-worth and self-love. It only takes one person to donate 40 cents a day/$12 month for the two pills that can help keep a person living with HIV in Africa alive!

I am inspired to join this movement!!!! I am inspired to being (RED).
