Physical and Sexual abuse is such a taboo issue, especially in the black community. Because we do not like to talk about it, we fail to support the individuals that encounter this form of abuse! Lee Daniels, along with Sapphire, decided to go against what is norm and create a platform for a rich dialogue to emerge!
If you have not seen the movie "Precious" yet, then please do so! Forget the rumors of Oscar nods that Mo'Nique may receive (although S4TP is happy for her) or the fact that this movie may be the Slumdog Millionaire of 2009....Support it because it is talking about issues that no one else wants to talk about! Abuse, Incest, Child Welfare, Education, Social Service Providers...the list goes on!
